Taught by Tracie Strain of the Newton Rec Center, this class for girls in 7th - 12th grades focuses on lifetime fitness skills and offers a variety of exercise and health info weekly. Some exercise approaches offered in the past have been aerobics, step aerobics, power walking, stretching, hand weights, kickboxing, hula hoops, and exercise balls. Tracie will be sending communication home weekly so families will know what is being offered the following week and can opt out if they are not comfortable with an activity. Class time will be Fridays from 1:10 - 1:55 pm, Sept. 4 - Nov.

Music classes taught by Deborah Toews will once again be offered on Friday mornings at Meridian Baptist Church from September 4 – November 20. The most likely performance date is Friday evening, November 20.

The schedule & content will be as follows:
9:15-9:55 Kindergarten – 2nd grades: basic instruction in singing & pitch matching as well as activities to teach rhythm and beginning music reading

10:00 – 10:55, 3rd – 6th grades: Vocal production, part singing, following a conductor and music reading skills

I will be teaching Algebra I and II on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. at Meridian Baptist Church. First semester will begin August 13 and end on December 17. I've decided to have 17 weeks of class each semester so that there is less homework each week.

Please contact me by August 10 if you wish to enroll. On August 13, we will begin with a parent, student, teacher time at 1:00 and class will let out at 3:30. I would like a parent from each family to attend on the 13th.
