HEA Choirs & Music Classes – Grades K-12

Music classes taught by Deborah Toews will once again be offered on Friday mornings at Meridian Baptist Church from September 4 – November 20. The most likely performance date is Friday evening, November 20.

The schedule & content will be as follows:
9:15-9:55 Kindergarten – 2nd grades: basic instruction in singing & pitch matching as well as activities to teach rhythm and beginning music reading

10:00 – 10:55, 3rd – 6th grades: Vocal production, part singing, following a conductor and music reading skills

11:00-11:55, 7th – 12th grades: More advanced choral skills, sight-singing, part singing & vocal production. Emphasis is on quality sacred and classical music.

12:00-12:30, 4th – 12th grade treble voices (girls & unchanged boys) select ensemble: 2 and 3 part music for performance, by audition and contingent upon adequate interest.

Fees will be the same as last year. There is no additional fee for music and music will be returned to me at the end of the semester.

$30 second child
$20 third child
$10 each additional child

New this fall, you may register by e-mail and PAY AT THE FIRST CLASS. This will save you postage and allow you to let me know as soon as possible your intention to participate. I still need to know numbers as soon as possible to purchase music and make lesson plans. Therefore, those registering after AUGUST 15 will be asked to add a $5 late fee.

Indicate whether your child (4th-12th) wishes to audition for the ensemble. All auditions will take place Sept. 4.
